Gulf Shores, Ala. – Senior Keeley Leary (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) broke her own school record in the preliminaries of the 800m with a time of 2:14.40 by over half a second, but just missed the finals by a second with her 12th place finish for the Saint Xavier University women's track and field time at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala. Leary, along with her teammates; junior Delilah Delgado (East Chicago, Ind./Calumet College of St. Joseph/East Chicago), sophomore Lana Musa (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg), freshman Jamaya Jenkins (Chicago, Ill./South Shore International) and freshman Rakiya Lawrence (Chicago, Ill./Lindblom), who ran in the 4x100 Relay, are the first members of the SXU track team to qualify for nationals since former All-American Ellie Willging (2015-17) won the 10,000 in 2017.
