Comments

Joliet, Ill. – Sophomore Ayobami Arokoyo (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) shattered the program record in the Discus with a throw of 52.27m, becoming the first Cougar to eclipse the 50.0m mark, and hit the NAIA 'A' Standard to qualify for the NAIA Men's Track and Field National Championships Saturday afternoon at Joliet Memorial Field in Joliet, Ill. in the University of St. Francis Fighting Chance Open. Arokoyo is the first thrower in any discipline, men's or women's, from SXU to qualify for nationals. There were no team scores for either the men's or women's teams as individuals were competing to have one more chance to secure a spot at nationals later this month.
